About
If you find yourself on the picturesque Central Coast of Australia, "The Point at Avoca Beach" is a culinary gem that should not be missed. Nestled at 10 Vine St, Avoca Beach NSW, this vibrant eatery boasts not only a delectable menu but also breathtaking views of the beach, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions.
From the moment you step in, you are welcomed by a friendly team that epitomizes the warmth of Australian hospitality. As Jemima Skelley notes, the ambiance here is both inviting and accommodating, even on busy days like Mother’s Day. The menu is especially commendable, offering an all-day breakfast alongside gourmet lunch options that cater to all palates.
One standout dish that has secured its place in the hearts of patrons is the wagyu burger. Described by Skelley as potentially the best burger on the Central Coast, it promises a delightful balance of flavors and textures that are simply unforgettable. For something a bit different, the brekky burger is also highly recommended—transforming the familiar bacon and egg roll into a dish elevated beyond its humble beginnings.
Aside from burgers, the menu features an impressive selection of seafood, including the highly praised barramundi variants. Customer Fouad George Ibrahim perfectly captures this experience, calling The Point a "hidden gem" with gourmet-quality food at reasonable prices.
Couple that excellent food with the stunning ocean views—like those enjoyed by Sriranjan Chaudhuri and their family as they dined under a shady tree—and you have a dining experience that transcends the meal itself. The easy-going atmosphere, paired with refreshing beverages such as chilled ginger beers, complements the overall vibe; everything feels perfectly curated for relaxation and enjoyment.
In sum, "The Point at Avoca Beach" not only satisfies your taste buds but also nourishes the soul. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or looking to celebrate a special occasion, this café promises an experience marked by delicious food, excellent service, and stunning coastal views. Don’t just take my word for it—come by, grab a seat, and enjoy what could easily become your new favorite seaside escape.
“ Had lunch here after a long drive from Sydney, what a hidden gem. Million dollar view, directly on the beach. Their food, absolute gourmet like at very reasonable prices, especially the two barramundi variants. The staff is super friendly and all of them are constantly smiling. They are the classic friendly aussies, serve with a genuine smile. Thank you Ben, Kerry, Gemma and Hannah. A great team, very scenic location and very tasty food ( I don’t know the chef’s s name) but the business owner should be grateful with his blessings ”
“ This place sits off the beach and you have a great view from the cafe. The food was decent. ”
“ This is for the Point Cafe in East Gosford. I gave 4 stars because the staff were attentive, and the overall experience was decent. My husband's meal was well-cooked and nicely presented. Unfortunately, mine didn’t match the menu description—eggs served on raw spinach with an untoasted muffin. When asked if everything was to our liking, we said no, but the response was merely an acknowledgment, with no attempt to resolve the issue. I’ll give this place another chance, hoping it was a one-off. Otherwise, my next review will reflect a different experience. ”
“ A wonderful experience for my daughter's semi casual birthday lunch. All day breakfast was a bonus for the non-seafood-eaters and 5yo at the table. Great food , fantastic view and the friendly staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the seating and everything else. Such a lovely experience, food was delish of course but its the whole experience that makes a great lunch and we'll definitely be back! ”
“ The wagyu burger is amazing - one of the best burgers we’ve found on the central coast (and yep we have tried a lot). Even on a rainy Sunday where staff were under the pump with a busy Mother’s Day crowd, they were so lovely and accommodating. I also recommend the brekky burger- like a bacon egg roll but a million times better . They have a great extensive drinks menu and all day brekky, plus views of the beach. What more do you need?! ”
“ Enjoyed a lovely long weekend lunch with my partner . at one of the most scenic spots in the Central Coast.. My partner LOVED his Chicken Kebabs.. And my Barramundi was lovely too. ”
“ Lovely setting with great views of the ocean. Warm welcome and quick service. My family and I were out on a tour of the central coast and stopped for lunch as our tour guide recommended the place highly. He wasn't wrong. We had the fish and chips, pulled pork tacos and some eggs. The chilled ginger beers (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were great quenchers as we ate at a table under a shady tree. Just perfect. ”
